Shera fills a unique niche in the Asian EMS
market space providing both medium and small sized companies*
the opportunity to realize the benefit of off-shore manufacturing.
Our uniqueness extends to the ownership and upper management,
which is predominantly Western, creating a solid foundation
of communication, expectations and implementation customary
in US based customer / manufacture relationships.
Incorporated in 1992, Shera established
its manufacturing base in Taipei, Taiwan providing OEM and
ODM manufacturing services to predominantly American
and Canadian companies at the front line
of the banking, finance and prepaid markets with an emphasis
on terminals and thermal printers.
With demand exceeding
the Taiwan capacity, Shera closed
the Taipei operation opening a newly constructed 70k square foot
manufacturing facility, near the heart of China’s Shanghai-Suzhou high-tech corridor, in
November 2002. Built from the ground
up, the new facility includes the latest in SMT machinery, ESD
protective flooring and back up generators.
With growth in mind, the factory was designed to meet
future manufacturing volume demands and thus currently operates
at a quarter of its total production capacity including both
SMT and box build assembly and has additional space under roof
to double the size of both the factory production floor and
office/ engineering areas.
The China facility received its
ISO 9001: 2000 Certification on October 25, 2003 and manufactures
products to meet TUV, UL, FCC, C-Tick, CCC, and CE requirements.
Previously Shera has also maintained BABT certification based
on customer product requirements.
In November of 2003, Shera opened
a research and development center in Shanghai. With a full
staff of continued engineering at the Kunshan facility, the
Shanghai research and development center acts as both an
additional resource to the manufacturing plant and customers
as well as a hub of cutting edge technical advancements in
ASIC design and embedded Java application development.
Combined, Shera’s engineering
services incorporates software, hardware, mechanical, firmware,
testing, and ASIC development together providing a full-service "Total
Solution"; taking into account product life cycles and
the customer's future market requirements.
In
the highly competitive environment of off-shore OEM/ODMs,
customers can expect to realize the core advantages of off-shore
manufacturing: high quality products and engineering services
at low cost from many manufacturers. Shera’s growth
in this competitive environment is a direct result of our
ability to provide these traditional benefits while placing
equal importance on exceptional customer services, trustworthiness,
product mix and forecast flexibility and freedom from the
nickel and dimming fees common to many Asian OEM/ODMs. The
net result is a manufacturer who acts more like a partner,
taking an active interest in the success of each of our customers’ businesses.
Shera is the off-shore manufacturer

product quality, business reputation and on-time delivery

North American OEMs and ODMs
Shera provides engineering and manufacturing solutions
to US and Canadian OEMs and ODMs feeling cost pressures
on high volume or high-mix, low volume products. Western
managed by Americans living full time in China, we provide
our customers with clear written and verbal communications
maximizing our ability to effectively and accurately exchange
technical, order, shipping and general account management information.
Small to Medium Companies
Shera has the capacity and engineering
expertise to meet the design and manufacturing requirements
of companies both large and small. It has been our experience
that small to medium sized companies are not afforded the advantages
of off-shore manufacturing because of their lower
dollar volumes making them less attractive to the majority
of China manufacturers.
Shera has a history of working with companies
in their start up or growth phases, providing them with lower
cost, high quality products coupled with superior customer
service which in turn enables them to compete and grow in their
respective markets.

to medium size companies: 2-20 million gross manufacturing

Terminals, Small Devices, Peripherals and Thermal
Printers,
Shera has been involved with many
projects including adsl modems, network firewalls, electric
blinds, audio devices and even electronic sewing machines;
however, our extensive experience using touch screens, LCD’s,
wired and wireless devices, security/encryption units, TPH’s,
platens, and rollers make us a natural choice for the manufacturing
of terminals, peripherals and thermal printers.

Shera’s
business philosophy is to offer its customers a combination
of high quality customer service, low China pricing and maximum
flexibility.
Quality Customer Service
Superior
customer service is a critical component of Shera’s
business philosophy separating Shera from many would
be competitors in the manufacturing industry. Far from
the rigid rules inherent in many vendor customer relationships,
our customers are treated as business partners with
emphasis on understanding, implementing and resolving
product and order related issues that enable, you the
customer, to meet your marketing and business objectives
Quality Relationships
To
develop and maintain a high quality business relationship:
deliver accurate and timely responses to inquiries,
and perform all communications as it relates to scheduling,
quotations and shipping documents, Clients will be
assigned dedicated customer service contacts.
Low
China Pricing
In
2002, Shera moved its operations from Taiwan to China.
The move was made to maintain a competitive edge in
the manufacturing industry by capitalizing on China’s
pro-business stance, high quality work force and low
material and labor costs. These variables coupled with
our strategic partnership with large volume vendors enables
Shera to keep overhead low and pass valuable savings
onto its customers. Shera’s FCOG pricing is competitive
with the large multi-billion dollar EMS providers.
Maximum
Flexibility
Flexibility
is key to all successful business models and thus is
also a critical part of Shera’s business philosophy.
We have found that customers require forecast flexibility
above all else, as marketing and sales objectives and
results fluctuate. In order to meet customer flexibility
requirements Shera is equipped to propose and manage
numerous solutions to include but not limited to semi-monthly
forecasts with realistic percentages for rolling volumes
and the options of safety stock and component purchasing.
Quality Manufacturing
To
deliver products that meet or exceed International
quality standards for electronic manufacturing
100% of the time. This is a core philosophy of
Shera’s
and is especially important to North American
corporations manufacturing in China.
